My name is Andrew Guilfoyle.

I have been in the best industry for 3/4 of my life and love it more each day.

This is a long story but in short I have found I don’t work for myself, my salon, or even my clients. I work for this crazy industry that I love so much more than a career. It gives me so much. You know what I am talking about if you are in the hair game.

4 years ago I started a mentorship/consulting business aimed at giving value back into hairdressing and all it offers. Best decision I have ever made. It has given me a life after Scissors. Even though I still cut I don’t plan on doing it forever.

Consent through knowledge

This is a new approach to consultation that requires the stylist to use their knowledge and awareness of what products the salon provides.  A look into your own capabilities as a stylist and how that translates through in your own consultation.

We will look into the costs and why it’s so important to know how to achieve looks with different approaches.

We learn why it’s so important to offer options as well how to approach “The Money” with your clients without feeling awkward. Too often stylists in our salons are being told to “up sell” – we need to learn to “up value”.

We learn in this course to give the power to the client with choices that leave everybody comfortable before our service even starts.

We are creative first, yet somewhere along the line somebody decided to turn us into sales people. That’s like giving a hamster a brick for a hamster wheel. All this does is result in polar behaviour.

Learn to consult  through your own method with transparency and integrity.

This is an open discussion format that allows all attendees to converse and swap ideas.

I have put my input based on allowances, charging according to the brand you stock, forgetting old school terminology and making sure your treatment business is at the forefront of what you do.

We will cover tips and tricks as well as showing our guests clearer transparency from before they even sit down. We can learn off of other industries and shape our future accordingly.

This half day is designed to open your mind to new ideas as well as refresh old ones.

Let’s face it, the more out of touch we are with all of the processes in our salons the more the problem will grow.
